Why Aren’t Millennials Buying Yachts?

Why aren't millennials buying yachts?

Experts at The Millennial Snowflake Research Center (MSRC) are studying the puzzling question as to why millennials aren’t buying yachts at the same rate their Baby Boomer counterparts have. The yacht industry is near its wit’s end trying to figure out how to appeal to the ever-elusive millennial demographic. Slowing sales in recent years have led the yacht industry to look outside of the once-bulletproof luxury ship market to attract millennial customers.

A new campaign from Boats and Hoes Yacht Club, attempted to sell millennials on the idea that yachts mean freedom. But their desired demographic didn’t take the bait. Upon closer inspection though, The Millennial Snowflake Research Center reports that many Gen-Yers are buying houseboats out of the desire to become true global citizens and because it allows them to simply float away from the stresses of adulting.
