In the latest in a series of recent allegations against the Parts Unknown host, Alice Dewitt, a close friend of the celebrity chef’s girlfriend Asia Argento, revealed Tuesday that Anthony Bourdain was a little bit taller than you’d expect, but just as snarky.
“He’s not basketball player height, but he’s up there,” said Dewitt. “He’s definitely as snarky as I imagined. At one point, we were all eating dinner together and I said something about how fish is the best when it’s smoked and he was all like ‘Yeah, if you lack taste and imagination. There are a million ways to cook fish.’ It was pretty embarrassing.”
Dewitt says Bourdain repeatedly exposed his worldview to her and assaulted her with perspectives on other cultures.
A number of other top female chefs and women who’ve worked closely with Bourdain have come forward with similar stories.
“He’s an imposing figure and very forceful with his opinions,” said Dewitt.
In response to the allegations, Bourdain’s representatives said he was unavailable for comment due to the fact that he was overseas filming the newest season of Parts Unknown.
